Saarlouis (dpa / lrs) - Almost 30 years after an arson attack on a home for asylum seekers with a dead person in Saarlouis, investigators are currently assuming a right-wing extremist act.

As the police announced on Friday, they had received new information.

A witness was able to provide a description of a man who was seen at the accommodation before the crime.

According to the police, the crime is one of a series of arson and explosive attacks on asylum seekers' accommodation in the Saarlouis area in the early 1990s.

A 27-year-old man from Ghana was killed in the arson attack on September 19, 1991 on a former inn used as an asylum seekers home.

According to the police, there were 23 people in the house during the attack.

In the course of the resumed investigation, the police are looking for additional witnesses.
