this morning's plenary session, the National Assembly is planning to ask urgent questions about the COVID-19 quarantine countermeasures, including vaccine supply and demand plans to the State Council members.
For today's inquiry, Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun, Minister of Health and Welfare Kwon Deok-cheol, and Vice Minister-level Personnel, Jung Eun-kyung, are present.
It is unusual for the Vice Minister, who is not a member of the State Council, to attend the plenary session of the National Assembly.
That is why both parties decided that the matter was significant.
In particular, the opposition will inquire intensively, focusing on the problems of the government's vaccine supply and demand plan, which has been procrastinating.
Major public welfare bills, such as the Severe Accident Corporate Punishment Act, are also presented as agendas to the National Assembly plenary session today.
The ruling and opposition parties agreed yesterday on a major disaster bill with the aim of punishing a manager in jail for at least one year for poor safety measures if a worker dies in an accident.
However, workplaces with fewer than 5 employees are excluded from the law, and the penalties for workplaces with fewer than 50 employees will be suspended for 3 years.
