07 January 2021 Barack Obama's condemnation of the assault on the US Congress in Washington is very harsh. "History will remember today's violence at the Capitol, instigated by an incumbent president who continued to lie baselessly about the outcome of a legitimate election, as a time of great dishonor and shame for our nation."
In a statement, Obama then appealed to the Republicans to "take the first steps to tame the flames" and "choose" America.
