US President-elect Joe Biden said of those who stormed Congress on Wednesday before his victory in the elections was confirmed as domestic thugs and terrorists, accusing outgoing President Donald Trump of inciting the storming.

Biden described - in a speech from his headquarters - the events of Congress as the worst in the history of America, saying that they are "an attack on our history, the most important sacred things, and the will of the people."

Trump openly accused Trump of inciting those he described as a mob to attack Congress and encroach on the will of the American people, adding that the outgoing president had pushed the army to fire tear gas bombs on the people.

He pointed out that Trump was dealing with the Minister of Justice as if he was his lawyer within his companies.

Commenting on Trump's allegations of election fraud and theft in favor of Democrats, Biden said that the US judiciary found nothing that would justify questioning the integrity of the elections.

Biden praised the American judiciary, and said that the judiciary does not serve the president, and is not present to protect him, and Congress is not a throne for the president, stressing that loyalty must be to the law, the constitution, and the people of this country.

"We must restore the honor, integrity and independence of the US Department of Justice, and rebuild confidence in the rule of law," he added, warning that "nothing is more at risk than our identity as Americans."
