Ludwigsfelde (dpa / bb) - On the Autobahn 10, a car transporter caught fire at the Ludwigsfelde-West junction.
A spokesman for the situation center of the Brandenburg police announced that the fire had blocked the motorway in the direction of Hamburg on Friday night.
The driver first noticed that a tire had burst on his trailer and drove onto the hard shoulder.
The tire caught fire and set the trailer on fire.
The driver was able to drive down one of the nine cars from the trailer, the spokesman said. The remaining vehicles on the trailer burned out completely. The Firefighters put out the fire. The recovery of the trailer was scheduled for Friday morning. The police spokesman said that the highway could be temporarily closed.
