Germany records the first case of the new Corona strain spreading in Britain
The German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg said today, Thursday, that it had detected the first case of the new strain of Corona virus, which is spreading rapidly in Britain.
The infected person came from Heathrow Airport in London to Frankfurt on December 20 to visit relatives and tested positive for the virus upon arrival.
"This is the first known case in Germany," the health ministry said in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg.
She added that three of those in contact with the infected case were quarantined.
The fast-spreading new strain prompted many countries to halt travel with Britain.
Today, Singapore also confirmed the discovery of the first confirmed case of the new strain.
