Exactly one year ago, on December 24th, 2019, I had the honor of thinking about Christmas at this point.

The tenor of the considerations: Only at Christmas can all systems be shut down.

Only in this short time, possibly only on Christmas Eve, when everything is ready, can society really become bradycardic and get rid of the previous bustle and rush.

But how is it this year? Could one have gained anything from that “world interruption” in December 2019 if one had known how 2020 would go? Wasn't the whole of 2020 some kind of world disruption that challenged much of what was true before? Could we have imagined in January that an actual shutdown of the systems would have been necessary in the spring in order to get through the first phase of the crisis?
