As the police announced on Thursday, passers-by called the ambulance the day before in Barßel when they discovered the motionless 30-year-old man on a connecting road.

Shortly afterwards, a woman reported that the car, with an already badly damaged windshield, had strayed a little further from the road and hit a bollard.

Still the car drove on.

He admitted both accidents, he had already taken the damaged car to a workshop. There, the police found clear accident damage to the car, which indicated a collision with a person. After consulting the public prosecutor and a judge, the 68-year-old's driver's license was confiscated. The seriously injured pedestrian was taken to the hospital. The dog, which was not caught by the car and was not injured, was handed over to relatives by the police.
