Distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine in the United States began on the 13th (local time).

According to CNN Broadcasting and the Associated Press, a truck loaded with the first vaccine at a pharmaceutical company Pfizer's factory in Portage, Michigan left the factory this morning.

Earlier, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the emergency use of a vaccine jointly developed by Pfizer and German Bioentech on the 11th.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Vaccination Advisory Committee (AICP) also made a decision to recommend use on the 12th.

Workers wearing masks at the factory started packing their first shipments with dry ice around 6:30 am this day.

When the first package was loaded onto the truck, the staff clapped.

Then, at 8:30 am, three trucks loaded with vaccines left the factory while being escorted by security personnel in body armor in pickup trucks.

The first shipment of vaccines from the factory, loaded in 189 vaccine containers, will be transferred across the United States by aircraft, etc. by the 14th.

Additional vaccines produced at the plant will be shipped on the afternoon and 14th of that day.

These first vaccines are delivered to 64 states and territories, major metropolitan areas, and 5 federal agencies.

Regional quantities were allocated based on the adult population of each state.

Specifically, they are delivered to distribution centers that can be stored at -70 degrees Celsius, starting at 145 on the 14th, 425 on the 15th, and 66 on the 16th, and transferred to the vaccination center designated by the state so that they can be administered within 3 weeks.

The primary vaccine distributed is an amount that can be administered to about 2.9 million people, and although it is a weekly decision, health workers such as doctors and nurses, and nursing home residents and staff are expected to be given priority.

When the vaccine arrives at the vaccination site, it is predicted that urgent vaccination will begin immediately from the 14th.

FDA Director Steve Han told CNN that the vaccine could be administered for the first time as early as the 14th.

Montseff Slawy, head of vaccine development at the White House, told Fox News that 100 million Americans will be vaccinated by the first quarter of next year.

Corona 19 vaccination in the United States is 11 months after the first confirmed case on January 20th.

The U.S. is currently the most severe country in the world, with 16 million infected and 300,000 dead.
