Berlin (dpa) - The German-Austrian TV chef Sarah Wiener (58) can understand the policy requirements to close restaurants in the partial lockdown.

“Of course, the measures are understandable and decisions have to be made.

But I can also understand the anger of the people whose existence is ruined, ”said Wiener of the German press agency.

The restaurateur, who sits in the European Parliament for the Austrian Greens, had to file for bankruptcy for three of her businesses in Berlin in July.

"From an entrepreneurial point of view, it was a sensible decision, but emotionally it is of course difficult," Wiener explained with a little distance.

In autumn, the 58-year-old also contracted Corona herself.

“If things had gotten a little worse then, I would have had to go to the hospital.

There was also a cough and exhaustion, some of which continue to this day. "

Wiener has been accompanied by a camera team over the past few months.
