Erfurt (dpa / th) - The production of “Lanzelot” at the Nationaltheater Weimar & Theater Erfurt is with the “Opera!

Award »- as the best rediscovery.

This was announced on Monday in Berlin by the specialist magazine «Oper!

Weimar and Erfurt had revitalized the evil political opera for the first time since 1971 with Peter Konwitschny's bold, sleek directorial assistance from Paul Dessau and Heiner Müller's evil political opera.

In 1969 the “weird, accurate piece” premiered at the Berlin State Opera.

Award »has been presented in 20 categories since 2019.

The award was launched by the specialist magazine “Oper!”.

Germany has the highest density of opera houses in the world.

Of around 560 opera houses worldwide, more than 80 are in Germany.

Because of the corona pandemic, the award ceremony was moved to the magazine's website this year, with awards and interviews.
