Bückeburg (dpa / lni) - In the dispute over NPD-critical statements by Prime Minister Stephan Weil, the Lower Saxony State Court announced its decision today.

The right-wing extremist NPD accuses the SPD politician of violating his duty of neutrality with statements about an NPD demo on Twitter at the end of 2019.

Weil had described it as perfidious that the NPD wanted to demonstrate "under the guise of freedom of assembly against the constitutionally guaranteed freedom of the press".

If the court were to certify that the Prime Minister had misconduct, this would not have any immediate consequences.

The evaluation would be a political question.
