Deputy Mayor of Moscow Anastasia Rakova said that the situation with the spread of coronavirus in the capital at the moment cannot be called stable.

Rakova noted in an interview with TASS that for the first time since mid-May, Moscow has overcome the mark of 6 thousand new detected cases of COVID-19 per day, and "this trend is again alarming."

“This week, an increase in overall morbidity and hospitalizations is again recorded.

If last week the increase for seven days was -0.7% for new cases and 1.9% for hospitalizations, then for four days of this week these figures increased to 24% and 9%, respectively, ”she said.

Speaking about the situation with the load of the capital's hospitals, the deputy mayor said that more than 15 thousand beds were deployed in Moscow, at the moment about 70% of this fund is occupied.

She also explained that the transfer to distance learning of high school and high school students has reduced the proportion of cases in four weeks in half - from 8.9 to 4.3%.

In Russia, over the past day, 20,582 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected, of which the largest number was in Moscow - 6253, St. Petersburg - 1171, Moscow region - 605, as well as Nizhny Novgorod and Arkhangelsk regions - 431 and 369, respectively.

During this time, 16 955 people recovered, 378 patients died.

Thus, the total number of COVID-19 cases detected in the country has reached 1,733,440, 1,296,124 have recovered over the entire time, and 29,887 people have died.

The operational headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus clarified that over the past day, 1,415 patients with COVID-19 were hospitalized in Moscow, 359 people are on mechanical ventilation in hospitals.

It is clarified that 13.9% of the sick are children, 41.6% are people aged 18 to 45, 30.5% are from 46 to 65 years.

Another 10.2% of the patients are patients aged 66 to 79 years.

Also, 3.8% of the sick are people over 80 years old.

On the eve, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, commenting on the situation with coronavirus in the capital, drew attention to the fact that the highest mortality rate of hospitalized patients is observed among those who did not seek medical help in a timely manner.

“Do you know who dies in our hospitals first?

First of all, those who self-medicate are 95%, "he said on the air of the Russia 1 TV channel.

The mayor noted the need to consult with doctors and use only drugs prescribed by doctors.

In turn, Deputy Mayor Vladimir Efimov said that the capital's health care system, thanks to timely measures taken, copes with the load, so there is no need to introduce strict restrictions that were in force in the spring.

He noted that citizens and organizations have responsibly reacted to the requirements to combat COVID-19.

“We hope that strict adherence to those rather soft restrictions that have been introduced at the moment will allow not to toughen those requirements that are prescribed by the decree,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The deputy mayor clarified that in the capital, only 2-2.5% of enterprises violate anti-coronavirus measures, while gross violations "are isolated."

Denis Protsenko, head physician of GKB No. 40 in Kommunarka, in an interview with RT, expressed the opinion that the coronavirus pandemic in Russia could end in June 2021.

“I really hope that in June, or maybe earlier,” he said.

Protsenko noted that this depends on several conditions.

In particular, the third wave of the pandemic may begin in March, and by the beginning of summer it will already come to an end.

If by this time an effective vaccine appears, then the world can emerge from the pandemic.
