Dubai Police: There is no criminal suspicion behind the death of a businessman who drowned during "free diving"

The Dubai Police General Command confirmed that there is no criminal suspicion behind the death of businessman Sindika Dokolo, 48, who drowned while practicing free diving in the north of Deira Island.

Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, Major General Khabir Ibrahim Al-Mansoori, said that on the 29th of last October, the Command and Control Center at the General Department of Operations received a report stating that a person drowned while practicing free diving, known as "Al-Hiyari", which is practiced without using a cylinder Oxygen near Umm al-Hatab island, north of Deira island, seven nautical miles away, and accordingly, marine rescue teams moved to search for him and he was found dead.

He added that Dubai Police opened an investigation into the circumstances of the death and listened to the statements of the deceased's friends and reviewed the results of the forensic report. The investigation concluded that there was no criminal suspicion of the death.
