Sudan .. Sadiq al-Mahdi was infected with the Corona virus

The family of the prominent Sudanese politician, head of the National Umma Party, Sadiq al-Mahdi, said in a statement today, Thursday, that he had contracted the new Corona virus and was receiving treatment.

"The beloved imam was exposed to a feeling of fatigue, and yesterday evening he had a Covid-19 examination, and unfortunately it became clear this morning that the result is positive, and thank God, he is now receiving treatments," the statement said.

Al-Mahdi, head of the Umma Party, is the last democratically elected Sudanese prime minister, and was ousted by the coup of ousted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir in 1989.

The total cases of Coronavirus in Sudan reached 13,765, and the total deaths reached 837, according to official data.
