Unidentified people placed death threatening messages on the door of a mosque in France, in a continuous escalation of Islamophobic attacks that affect Muslims and Islam there.

According to the Anadolu Agency correspondent, the letters were placed in the mailbox of the mosque in the city of Vernon (northern France).

One of the messages included, "The war has begun, we will expel you from our country, and we will hold you accountable for the killing of (French teacher) Samuel (Patty)," in addition to containing derogatory phrases regarding Muslim women.

France has witnessed during the past few days the publication of insulting cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, on the facades of some buildings.

On October 21, Macron said in press statements that France would not abandon the cartoons (offensive to Islam), which sparked a wave of anger throughout the Islamic world, and campaigns were launched in some countries boycotting French products and goods.
