North Korea's shooting and killing of South Korean officials in the West Sea has been officially discussed on the UN stage.

UN Special Rapporteur for North Korean Human Rights, Thomas Ohea Quintana, referred to the incident while reporting the status of human rights in North Korea at a remote meeting of the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly.

Quintana Bogok-gwan condemned the incident, which appears to have arbitrarily killed civilians and violated international human rights law.

The ROK delegation to the United Nations also requested North Korea to cooperate in finding out the truth.

Deputy Ambassador Oh Hyun-ju said he hoped that North Korea would comply with our request for a thorough joint investigation, and said that inter-Korean military communication lines should also be restored and resumed for related consultations.
