Liverpool turned from a clean goal to a precious 2-1 victory over Sheffield United in the sixth stage of the English Premier League to compete with Everton at the top of the competition table temporarily.

Liverpool benefited from the gifts of other prominent rivals and began to widen the gap with them after a few stages of the competition, raising its tally to 13 points evenly with leaders Everton, while Manchester City fell in a 1-1 draw with its host West Ham today and stuck at 8 points.

Manchester United also tied negatively with Chelsea today also in the same stage, to keep their score at 7 points and 9 points, respectively.

And at "Anfield", the first half ended with a 1-1 draw, as Sheffield United scored by Sander Berg (13 from a penalty kick), and Liverpool responded with a goal scored by Brazilian Roberto Firmino (41).

In the second half, Portuguese Diogo Jota scored the winning goal for Liverpool (64), to be the first victory for the team in the last 3 matches in the competition.
