Real Madrid dealt a heavy blow to its traditional opponent Barcelona and beat them 3-1 in their own home on Saturday in the "Clasico of Earth" in the seventh stage of the Spanish Football League.

The royal took a precious victory and regained some of his balance after two consecutive defeats at home to Cadiz, with a clean goal in the League last Saturday, and against Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine 2-3 in the UEFA Champions League last Wednesday.

The first half of the match ended with a 1-1 draw, as Real scored the goal by Uruguayan Federico Valverde (5) and the brilliant youngster Ansu Fati drew Barcelona (8) to be his fourth goal with Barcelona in the current season in the Spanish League.

In the second half, and despite Barcelona's relatively superior performance and opportunities, it was the Real Madrid’s lead through a penalty kick by Sergio Ramos (63).

The Croatian substitute Luka Modric doubled Barcelona's ordeal by scoring the third goal (90).

Real raised its score to 13 points to stand alone at the top of the competition table and Barcelona's balance stuck at seven points in tenth place after suffering its second successive defeat in the competition.
