Just a few more hours and that's it.

The curfew in the Bas-Rhin will be implemented from midnight tonight.

For six weeks, it will be active from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Prefect Josiane Chevalier detailed this Friday morning during a press point the measures concerning its application.

Measures were taken to "protect themselves and protect others" because it is true that the health situation is deteriorating sharply and rapidly in recent days throughout the Bas-Rhin.

As in 54 other departments of France, it will no longer be possible, except for derogatory reasons indicated in detail on the government website, to go out between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

If you have planned to take your car for the holidays to go to your second home while crossing France, there is no 100 km restriction but it is "better to plan a trip between 6 am and 9 pm" specified the prefect.

Regarding the border with Germany, Josiane Chevalier ensures that no closure is planned.

In the crosshairs

Mainly affected by this curfew, the bars, which will be completely closed as well as the games rooms, the sports halls (except exemption), the funfairs, the salons, the exhibition places, even during the day.

Small precision, only the bars offering a real restoration with a card will be able to open under the same conditions as the restaurants.

Festive and family gatherings are prohibited in all establishments open to the public.

Finally, to protect the elderly in particular, wearing a mask will also be compulsory in and around cemeteries on November 1.

For sports competitions, the gauge goes from 5,000 to 1,000 spectators and the competitions will be closed after 9 p.m.

Refreshments are prohibited.

Regarding the swimming pools, they are not part of the automatic closings provided for by the curfew, but those which are covered will be closed until December 4.

Sports halls, those in a closed environment, will not be allowed to open.

However, the outdoor stadiums will not be closed.

The authorities once again reiterate the importance of respecting barrier gestures to counter the pandemic.
