IVA fully booked - only covid patients: "We are so tired"

A maximum of 26 patients were cared for at the University Hospital's intensive care unit this spring.

It was mid-April.

During the summer, the number decreased rapidly and at the beginning of August there were no covid patients in the intensive care unit.

Now it's on its way up again.

Even though the number is not as high now, the situation is strained, according to doctor Rickard Lagedal.

- Now we are of course worried.

Here in Uppsala County, we clearly have the most IVA patients with covid per inhabitant compared with other regions.

So it's a worrying and serious situation.
