Gender equality First, the hypersexualization of the female body is at the heart of our dress code at school.

The compulsory wearing of the brassiere, the prohibited spaghetti straps, the too short skirt and so on, shows that the woman's body still belongs to society.

In 2020, the argument remains that we should not catch the eye and should not disturb.

What if I'm hot and I put on a less covering tank top?

What if I don't put on a bra because it hurts?

Are they going to deprive me of an education so as not to disturb?

I think that if I take charge of my habit, the others are able to manage themselves.

We are all capable of being respectful.

Second, toxic masculinity is extremely prevalent in our community.

Traditional stereotypes speak of men as being dominant, the strongest, the flirtatious, etc ... Clearly, these have a huge negative impact in our social environment.

The act of wearing a skirt is a way to break sexist and unhealthy habits.

Just as women can dress however they want, so should men.

So, if school is a formative place for our future society, it should adapt to the reality of today's young people and teach it.

The teenager explains for example that she is not allowed to wear spaghetti straps or a skirt that is too short, but that the bra is compulsory.

"Just as women can dress as they want, men should too", she claims while denouncing the ravages of "toxic masculinity".

A collective drive

The photo that was shared the most on social media shows a group of boys changing in the locker room to swap their pants for a skirt.

“It's not the length of their skirt that should decide whether boys are apt to listen in class,” the teenager wrote.

"We must all keep fighting so that we can finally change the badly constructed system," wrote another boy in a caption accompanying a photo of him wearing a skirt.

"We must also educate everyone to be open-minded and respect all people as they are."

In France, some students had already embarked on this kind of initiative.
