“We share the findings of Germany and France that there is no other plausible explanation for Navalny's poisoning other than Russia's involvement and responsibility.

At the next meeting of the EU Council, we will support the call for sanctions, ”he wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministries of France and Germany announced that they would send proposals to European partners on additional sanctions against Russia due to the situation around Navalny.

As stated in a joint statement of the two countries, "France and Germany have repeatedly called on Russia to shed light on the circumstances" of what happened to Navalny, but "Russia has not yet provided a convincing explanation."

The Russian Foreign Ministry called this statement unacceptable, they noted that it signals the "categorical unwillingness" of Paris and Berlin to reckon with the facts that were presented by Russian representatives, and Russian appeals are openly sabotaged.
