Eight people were included in the sanctions list, including the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, Yuri Karaev.

In addition, sanctions were imposed on the secretary of the CEC of Belarus, Elena Dmukhaylo.

On October 2, the EU put into effect a sanctions list for Belarus, including Karaev and the head of the country's CEC Lidia Yermoshina.

Belarus announced that it is introducing retaliatory sanctions against the EU.
