The Civil Defense Department in Ras Al Khaimah warned the public not to risk standing in or crossing the streams of torrents, and from approaching the valleys' streams for fear of collapsing their edges.

That the quantities of rain expected to fall on the country during the month of October will be at normal rates, and this month may witness slightly higher than normal temperatures.

In detail, the Emirate of Ras al-Khaimah witnessed during the past two days heavy and light rains, accompanied by cold and sandy winds in some areas, which caused the blindness of vision to road users, as the areas of Shuka, Al-Ghail, Kadra, Sayh Al-Saadi and Al-Munaii recorded, the day before yesterday, heavy rain falling accompanied by cold Yesterday, Al-Hawailat area recorded light rain, and a large number of citizens and residents flocked to the areas that witnessed rain to enjoy the rainy weather and the flow of some valleys.

The Civil Defense Department in Ras Al Khaimah appealed to the public not to risk standing in the course of the torrent or crossing it, and not to approach the streams of valleys and torrents for fear of collapsing their edges, in addition to not driving the vehicle in the course of the torrent to avoid storming the stream.

In the context, the National Center of Meteorology stated that the most prominent climatic features of October are the sharp and rapid changes in weather conditions, pointing to expectations that the amounts of rainfall will be around the average, while expectations indicate that the temperatures will be slightly higher than the normal range.

The center stated that the relative humidity is usually high in the early morning during the month of October, and gradually decreases with the appearance of the sun, then rises again after sunset, pointing out that the average maximum humidity during this month is approximately 79%, as the chances of fog formation increase with it in Midnight and early morning periods.

He pointed out that the highest temperature recorded by the center in the month of October during the past years was 46.3 degrees Celsius in the "Maziraa" area in Liwa city in 2017, while the lowest temperature was recorded at 10.2 degrees in the "Rukna" area in Al Ain in 2007.

The center said that during this month, the winds will be southeasterly at the end of the night and morning, and will turn in the afternoon and evening to northwest, as a result of the impact of the cycle of the land and sea breeze, pointing out that the highest wind speed recorded during October was 117.4 km / km Q on Qarnin Island in Abu Dhabi in 2012, while it was the highest year that witnessed the recurrence of fog formation in 2017, where the number of fog occurrences was 22 days of fog and five days of light fog.

With regard to weather conditions, the center reported that the country will be affected during the next four days by a shallow air depression accompanied by an extension of an air depression in the upper air layers to the east. It is expected that clear weather to partly cloudy will prevail today, with opportunities for clouds to form in the east in the afternoon.
