During the first half of this year, the inhabitants of Kalmar and Kronoberg counties have withdrawn a total of almost SEK 1.4 billion from ATMs.

This is a reduction of SEK 252 million compared with the first half of 2019.

The decrease in Kronoberg was 106 million, and Kalmar County accounted for 146 million.

That withdrawals in ATMs are decreasing is a trend that has been seen for several years, but this year it is clearer than usual, something that is partly due to the corona pandemic according to Johan Nilsson, customer and marketing manager at Bankomat AB.

- Many have been home more, consumed less and changed their payment habits, says Johan Nilsson in a press release.
