He commented on the calls of the Belarusian opposition to send a mission to Belarus to monitor the situation with the observance of human rights in the republic. 

"This issue was not discussed at the UN site in New York," the diplomat said.

He also stressed that human rights should not be used for political purposes to interfere in the internal affairs of independent countries. 

Earlier, the ex-presidential candidate of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, within the framework of the 45th session of the UN Human Rights Council, said that the situation in the republic requires immediate attraction of "international attention."
