  • Pardons: Capriles deepens the schism of the Venezuelan opposition

The return of Henrique Capriles to the front line of the Venezuelan opposition has once again hit

the wall of revolutionary reality.

"There are no conditions due to the pandemic and other things for an election to take place, as the European Union (EU) says. These elections must be postponed,

we demand that they be postponed,"

the former presidential candidate announced on Wednesday through their social networks.

Last month, the former governor of Miranda caused a schism within the opposition by

negotiating directly with Nicolás Maduro

and by getting into the race in the parliamentary elections on December 6, presenting a party created in his environment, La Force of Change.

Capriles has the support of a small group of deputies and the opinions of the Catholic Church and businessmen in favor of fighting against Chavismo in the electoral arena.

In front, 37 parties clothed the president in charge,

Juan Guaidó,

object of very strong criticism of the candidate ("Play to be president on the Internet"), who was defeated by

Hugo Chávez

in 2012 and by Maduro, in a very controversial way and with complaints fraud, in 2013.

"It is not about having some carguitos around here, about having some seats (seats). It is about having an election that serves Venezuela," Capriles said 48 hours after the two Spanish envoys of

Josep Borrell,

High Representative of the EU, will leave Caracas convinced that Maduro is not going to delay the elections, which makes electoral observation by Europeans impossible.

In a statement advanced by the EU, Brussels insisted that "the policy with respect to Venezuela has not changed: currently

the conditions do not exist

for a free, fair and democratic electoral process to take place."

The EU acknowledged that it discussed with Maduro's delegates in Caracas, without success, the postponement of the elections "to open a space for dialogue and change those conditions."

Although he does not say it in an exhaustive way, while waiting for a political miracle, Capriles thus recognizes that under the current circumstances he will

not compete in elections defined as "fraudulent" by the opposition majority.

The Force of Change reported in the last hours to the National Electoral Council (CNE) the formal withdrawal of their applications and the withdrawal of their voting instruments, according to the local newspaper Tal Cual.

None of his candidates will be from the game on 6-D.

Capriles and Borrell negotiated hand in hand with Maduro

, starting the release of 50 political prisoners

and the pardon of 60 persecuted or exiled leaders.

The Bolivarian regime also gave a poisoned "gift" to the opposition leader: the partial liberation of his party, Primero Justicia, intervened by Chavismo and handed over to politicians at the service of the Miraflores Palace and financially linked to the Colombian millionaire

Alex Saab,

front man of the "son of Chávez" who awaits his extradition to the US in Cape Verde.

The presidency in charge, headed by Guaidó, and Brussels agree on what are the basic conditions for a moderately democratic election to be held: an impartial referee, the

cessation of the intervention of political parties,

the rehabilitation of opposition leaders appointed by the government , a new electoral roll and the vote of Venezuelans abroad, among others.
