More fear than harm in Paris and the Paris region finally after the explanations of the air force following a major detonation that occurred around 12h.

Reactions and questions on social networks immediately multiplied.

 There is no explosion,

” tweeted the Paris Police Prefecture, calling on the population not to “clutter up the emergency lines”.

A fighter jet took off from the Saint-Dizier base in eastern France and passed the sound barrier, a Rafale.

It was a mission of assistance to a device in difficulty, explained the air force.

The fighter pilot had received authorization to pass the sound barrier in order to reach the aircraft in distress as quickly as possible.

An unusual detonation

The noise heard by Parisians was in fact not a customary noise: an explosion, a thud heard throughout the region, a powerful detonation coupled with a blast effect, the windows but also the walls trembled, the space time was suspended for a few seconds.

Even tennis players at Roland Garros have interrupted the game.

This gust has therefore crossed the sound barrier in the east of Paris: at a speed of nearly 1900 km / h or twice the speed of sound, hence the supersonic boom, a boom that is rarely heard.

The last time such an event occurred in the Paris region was in February 2019. On social networks, Parisians, traumatized by the recent terrorist attacks but reassured by the explanation of the army of the air, make humor, as if to celebrate the good news!
