It was at 6.20 pm on Tuesday that the rescue service was called.
The two people who were in the apartment had access to a fire extinguisher, but despite using it to try to fight the flames, the fire broke out.
After the extinguishing attempt, they got out of the apartment and waited for rescue services.
- Once we were in place, we could quickly go in with smoke divers and put it out, says Johan Gagnert, internal commander at Räddsam Mälardalen.
No one was injured in the fire.
