"The Ministry has worked in recent weeks to ensure the distribution of candidates in the classrooms throughout the country, proceeding to find all the necessary positions. This will avoid any form of gathering of candidates". This was assured by the Ministry of Education regarding the extraordinary competition, announcing that a special Protocol will also be issued in the next few days, aimed at ensuring that the tests are carried out in absolute safety. The extraordinary competition will be the first of the three selections that will take place starting from the next few weeks for the permanent recruitment of new teachers.

In the coming months, the ordinary competitions for childhood and primary and for the secondary of I and II degree will also be completed, for a general total of about 78 thousand places. In particular, the pre-selection tests of the other two competitions will take place immediately after the end of the written test of the extraordinary competition.

The tests will start on Thursday October 22nd to end in the middle of November. There are 32 thousand places available. There were 64,563 candidates who applied for the extraordinary procedure. Applications for participation could be sent from 11 July until last August 10. The written test, to be passed with a minimum score of seven tenths or equivalent and to be carried out with the computerized system, is divided by class of competition and type of place.

The duration is 150 minutes and includes, for the common places, five open-ended questions aimed at ascertaining disciplinary and didactic-methodological knowledge and skills in relation to the disciplines being taught, and one question - followed by five open-ended comprehension questions - for the verification of linguistic knowledge. For the English language competition classes, the written test will be entirely in the language and includes six open-ended questions. The winners of the extraordinary insolvency procedure placed on the role in the school year 2021/2022 - which fall within the quota of places destined for the procedure for the school year 2020/2021 - will be recognized as having legal effect from 1 September.
