This Monday, several people, including Jacques Santoni, the presumed head of the “Petit Bar” gang, were arrested in Ajaccio as part of the investigation into the 2018 assassination attempt of Guy Orsoni, son of a former nationalist leader, currently in detention and at the heart of several Corsican criminal cases.

A search took place at Jacques Santoni's home in Ajaccio, in the presence of the Raid, the elite body of the national police.

Jacques Santoni, quadriplegic, has a medical certificate of less than 10 days which requires him to stay at his home to avoid any risk in the face of Covid-19, said his lawyer, Pascal Garbarini.

A transfer to Marseille

He regretted that "the only solution offered to him is to transfer him to custody in Marseille, a cluster of Covid-19, while we are not in flagrante delicto since the alleged facts date back to September 2018" .

"I have already warned the judge and the judicial police officers that in the event that Mr. Jacques Santoni would catch a virus or something else because of this procedure, I would draw all the legal consequences", said Me Garbarini who defends a second person arrested on Monday in this case.
