New reports, new measures and highlights: an update on the latest developments in the Covid-19 pandemic around the world.

- 1,002,036 deaths worldwide -

The novel coronavirus pandemic has killed at least 1,002,036 people around the world since the end of December, according to a report established by AFP from official sources on Monday at 11:00 GMT.

The United States is the most affected both in number of deaths (204,762) and cases (7,116,456).

Brazil, India, Mexico and the United Kingdom follow.

- India: 6 million cases -

India crossed the threshold of six million officially listed cases on Monday.

With nearly 100,000 deaths, India, with a population of 1.3 billion, has a much lower death rate than Americans (205,000) and Brazilians (140,000).

- Germany: "very worrying" development -

"The trend in the number of infections is very worrying" in Germany, the government spokesman said.

Angela Merkel evokes the risk of registering at this rate in December "19,200 additional cases" each day, against around 2,000 currently and fears a loss of control of the epidemic this winter.

- France: 100 billion euros for the recovery -

One hundred billion euros, including 37.4 billion in European subsidies: the 2021 recovery plan, designed to support the French economy brought down by the pandemic, is presented to Parliament on Monday.

The government expects the gross domestic product (GDP) to rebound by 8% in 2021, after a historic contraction expected to 10% this year.

- Virtual G20 -

Saudi Arabia, the host country of the G20, announced that the summit would be held virtually on November 21 and 22 and would be chaired by King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud.

- Greece: cases on the first cruise -

In the first cruise ship to dock in Greece from containment, a dozen crew members have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Some 150 of the 666 crew members were tested, a dozen of which were positive.
