France recorded 4,070 new cases of coronavirus on Monday in 24 hours, a decline compared to other days rather usual for a day after a weekend, according to data published by Public Health France.

81 Covid-19 patients died in 24 hours in hospital, for a total of 31,808 deaths.

The test positivity rate, that is to say the percentage of infected people among those tested, has further increased to now reach 7.5%, against 7.4% on Sunday and 7.2% on Saturday.

More than 4,000 new hospitalizations over the last seven days

Over the last seven days, 4,069 new hospitalizations have been recorded, including 780 in intensive care.

1,246 clusters are currently under investigation by the health authorities, or 16 more since the last check-up.

In total, France has counted 542,639 confirmed cases of Covid-19.
