Lyon came close to defeat at the promoted Lorient (1-1) Sunday during a fifth day of Ligue 1 which frustrated Lens and Dijon, but not Monaco "heroic" nine against eleven against Strasbourg (3-2).

Uninspired, Olympique Lyonnais still let slip points in the league, where he has not won since his opening match on August 28 against Dijon.

But Rudi Garcia's players at least had the merit of equalizing by Léo Dubois (74th) after the opening of the sublime score of Yoane Wissa (63rd).

The partners of Memphis Depay, top scorer of L1 left on the bench at kickoff, stagnate in tenth place with two points behind Marseille, a great rival they receive next Sunday.

The Lorient, forced to make two injury changes before the break, displayed ambition as the other promoted Lens, caught up at the very end of the match in Nîmes (1-1).

The Blood and Gold were very close to a fourth consecutive victory after the opening scoring of Ignatius Ganago (34th).

But the fourth goal this season of the rookie from Nice, then released on injury (54th), was compromised by the late equalizer of Zinedine Ferhat (87th).

"To take this goal at the end of the match is frustrating. The physiognomy of the match disappoints us a bit, but after the break, we started to lose duels," admitted Lensois goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca.

Happier, Montpellier avoided the worst in the poorly classified Dijon (2-2), with an equalizer from Téji Savanier in the last moments on the penalty spot.

The Hérault residents, who remained on three consecutive wins, are third behind Lille and the leader Rennes, with the same number of points as Saint-Etienne (4th), Monaco (5th) and Lens (6th).

Another spectacular match, the one between Monaco and Strasbourg (3-2) ended with a victorious double from Wissam Ben Yedder (9th, 53rd) and two exclusions on the side of ASM, who struggled to retain their advantage.

"My players were heroic! At nine, the young people who entered showed a lot of character. In French, we say: + Chapeau! +", Rejoiced coach Niko Kovac.

Earlier in the afternoon, Nice left empty-handed and with "a lot of regrets" from Bordeaux (0-0), where the Aiglons hit the amounts of Benoît Costil three times.

The Girondins have honored their status as the best defense in the championship, but for this they have been well helped by the amounts of Benoît Costil who rejected attempts by Pierre Lees-Melou (30th), Rony Lopes (65th) and Amine Gouiri (90th).

Bordeaux "played, we defended well, we were solid, we respected the game plan that we had", welcomed the coach Jean-Louis Gasset, more polished than his counterpart of the day.

Nice can have "a lot of regrets because we did not manage to score this goal despite all these opportunities", commented Patrick Vieira, "satisfied" nevertheless with the content offered by his players.

The Aiglons are in ninth place, one point behind Marseille.
