The Palestinian national campaign "Marching towards the Mountains" was launched in early September, in Nablus, as it is the area in the West Bank most vulnerable to attacks by settlement expansion on its lands, in addition to the attacks on agricultural lands and Palestinian property, which are surrounded by settlements, according to Douglas.

Douglas said in an exclusive interview with "Emirates Today", that the reality of the suffering that the Palestinians have been experiencing for many years, due to settlement expansion, pushes us to devise peaceful means and methods to defend our lands and preserve them from confiscation. The idea of ​​the Palestinian national campaign was to "march towards the mountains." , Which enjoyed widespread public and official support.

He explains that the campaign to march towards the mountains is based on national foundations, which are filling the empty areas on the tops of the mountains with new mobile homes, and not leaving a single meter of land without being qualified for the Palestinian presence, to protect it from confiscation.

He added that “the high mountains and hills are spread in Nablus and all the cities of the West Bank, and a large part of these heights do not have any urban features, while Israeli aircraft conduct an aerial survey of the Palestinian lands surrounding the settlements, during every six months, and the areas that are frequently empty of public life, It is attached to settlement projects. ”

Douglas indicated that the Palestinians have so far placed 29 caravans on the tops of mountains and hills in the towns of Qusra and Jamain in Nablus, indicating that the national campaign of "marching towards the mountains" will be carried out in other towns in Nablus, while seeking to spread it in all cities of the West Bank, to spread Mobile homes on all mountain peaks in it.
