The State Prosecutor's Office broadcasts a film to raise awareness of "protection from domestic violence crimes"

Yesterday, the State Prosecutor's Office published a film material on its social media accounts regarding protection from domestic violence and the penalty for violating it, in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. 10 of 2019.

She indicated that Article 6 of the Decree-Law itself stipulated that the Public Prosecution may, on its own initiative or upon a request from the aggressor, issue a protection order obliging the aggressor not to violate the victim and not approach the places designated for the protection of the aggressor or any other place mentioned in the protection order. And not to damage the personal property of the offender or any of his family members, and to enable the offender or whoever he delegates to receive his necessary personal belongings and any other procedures that the Public Prosecution deems to include in the protection order would provide effective protection for the victim or any of the persons likely to be harmed because of Their relationship to it.

She explained that whoever violates the protection order will be punished with imprisonment for a period not exceeding three months and a fine not less than one thousand dirhams and not more than ten thousand dirhams, or by one of these two penalties. In accordance with Article Eight of the same Decree-Law.
