The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has reported the continued application of the remote work system for national employees in federal ministries and agencies, after the end of the Corona pandemic, pointing to the system’s ability to create new job opportunities, achieve job well-being, and balance between work and social life.

The Director of Policies and Legal Affairs Department at the Authority, Hamad Buamim, confirmed that the government has succeeded, through the preventive measures it has taken, in limiting the spread of the Corona pandemic, preserving the safety of society while ensuring the continuity of work and the provision of services in various sectors, indicating that the authority has played an effective role in Under the conditions imposed by the outbreak of the epidemic in the world.

Buamim said, during a virtual session of the Human Resources Club, which was held recently, under the title “Work in the government and private sectors after (Covid-19) ... Opportunities and Challenges,” that the authority took a series of precautionary steps and measures that had the greatest impact on protecting government employees, and ensuring Business continuity and the provision of services at the level of ministries and federal entities, within a safe and sound work environment, pointing out that the authority prepared a study on the application of the remote work system in light of the current exceptional circumstances at the government level, which included 53 ministries and federal entities, and 6327 employees participated in it.

He added, during the session moderated by the Director of Projects and Programs Department at the Authority, Salwa Abdullah, and was followed by nearly 7,000 affiliates and interested parties from inside and outside the country: “The study concluded with important results that help federal authorities in general, and especially the Authority, to formulate policies and prepare better for the future. Organizing the issue of remote work, to achieve the best results, maintain the safety of employees, and ensure high productivity, as the results showed that 91% of federal government employees are satisfied with implementing the remote work system under the current circumstances.

And 92% of the respondents confirmed their opinions documenting their tasks and following up on their achievements on a weekly or daily basis, during the remote work period.

Buamim said that the remote work system represents one of the main work patterns approved by the legislator in the federal government, based on the results of the experimental application in the federal government since 2017, indicating that the system is permanently applied in federal agencies in normal circumstances, in parallel with other types of traditional work applied Currently, after the end of the measures taken to organize government work in light of emergency circumstances.

He stated that this system helps to create new non-traditional job opportunities, and provides multiple work options for employees and their work destinations, to achieve a balance between work and life, in a way that does not affect the achievement of the strategic goals of the ministries and federal entities, announcing that the remote work system will be applied to national employees in the ministries And the federal authorities after the end of the Corona pandemic, in addition to those who will be appointed in the future in jobs appropriate to this system.

The two researchers stated that, through their research, they tried to shed light on the advantages of working remotely and the most prominent challenges facing the generalization of the system as one of the main work systems in many countries of the world, noting that the results of their research showed that a large proportion of employees prefer working remotely as an alternative to the traditional office hours It provides them with several advantages, as it gives them flexibility and the ability to create a greater balance between their professional and personal lives, and reduces the pressures they are exposed to daily, especially those caused by traffic congestion on the way to and from work.

They indicated that they noticed the increased productivity of remote employees, and the high levels of well-being and job happiness for them, especially the working woman, as thanks to this system, she was able to balance the needs of work and the requirements of her family.

Telework also helped to enhance the employees' physical and psychological health by allowing them more time to exercise and eat healthy meals, indicating that despite the great benefits of working remotely, some countries are still not convinced of its importance, or that they lack the capabilities that Enable it to manage his system, if implemented.

The two researchers pointed out that the "Covid-19" pandemic demonstrated to the whole world the importance of adopting a remote work system as one of the main work systems in the government and private sectors, in order to continue providing services and meeting the needs of customers, explaining that institutions that adopt this type of work are an attractive environment for talents and competencies. From different generations, especially from the millennial generation who have different needs and requirements from previous generations, and institutions should take them into account.
