Keiichi Ishii appointed acting secretary-general as secretary-general of Komeito September 27, 6:33

Komeito representative Yamaguchi has decided to replace Secretary-General Saito and appoint Keiichi Ishii as acting secretary-general in order to promote the generational change of the party executive department.

Komeito's representative Yamaguchi has been coordinating the personnel affairs of party officers in response to the fact that the seventh election was decided without a vote last week in the representative election following the expiration of his term.

As a result, Mr. Yamaguchi decided to replace Mr. Tetsuo Saito, who had been the secretary-general of the party, and to replace him with acting secretary-general Keiichi Ishii in order to promote the generational change of the party executive department.

Mr. Ishii is 62 years old, having been elected to the Northern Kanto Block, the proportional representation of the House of Representatives, nine times.

He has served as the party's political research chairman and the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, and is currently acting as the party's secretary-general.

In addition, the chairman of the political investigation, Ishida, will be replaced, and Yuzuru Takeuchi, a member of the House of Representatives who has served as the Deputy Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare and the chairman of the General Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, will be appointed as his successor.

Mr. Saito and Mr. Ishida will each be deputy representatives.

The personnel case is expected to be officially decided after being consulted at the party convention to be held on the 27th.
