Per Eriksson will take over after the turn of the year, when Rune Backlund will leave after having worked for 14 years in the Center Party's leadership in Jönköping County.

Backlund leaves all political assignments.

Per Eriksson was submitted as a proposal from the nomination group.

- The nomination group believes that with Per Eriksson we get a generational change in the management of the regional group and a visionary and clear leadership for the future.

Per has genuine support within the Center Party in the county where he is currently district chairman, says Anders Samuelsson, group leader in Jönköping on the party's website.

Per Eriksson is an entrepreneur from Stensjön in Nässjö municipality and district chairman.

At the turn of the year, he will also take over the role of chairman of ANA, the committee for labor market, business and attractiveness, where he currently sits as a regular member.

The matter was decided at the district meeting during a secret ballot between Per Eriksson and Leif Andersson from Tranås, who was nominated by the district in Tranås.

Per Eriksson won with 91 votes against 33. A vote was cast for a third candidate.
