Abu Dhabi Police has warned of a serious traffic violation committed by drivers on the roads while driving, which is the sudden swerving of the vehicle, as it causes serious traffic accidents, noting that last year there were 317 accidents due to this violation.

Abu Dhabi Police called on drivers to avoid the reasons that lead to their lack of control over their vehicles and their deviation from its lane, stressing the need to pay attention, focus and monitor the road, not to be distracted by the phone while driving, and to use light signals when wanting to change lanes and use mirrors to ensure that there is a space that allows movement to The other lane, and the obligation to walk on the tracks without changing them.

She explained that being busy other than the road leads to a sudden deviation that is caused by using the phone to browse the Internet and social networking sites or make a call, or take pictures, and other behaviors that may lead to accidents.

She called for the need to adhere to traffic and traffic laws, as sudden deviation of the vehicle is one of the main causes of dangerous traffic accidents, which also include speed, distraction from the road, maintenance of the vehicle and tire safety, failure to leave a safety distance between vehicles, lack of consideration for road users, and others.

She stressed the importance of adhering to the prescribed speeds and not being distracted from the road while driving the vehicle in any way, leaving a sufficient safety distance between vehicles, and being careful not to change the lane until after making sure that the road is clear.

It urges drivers to pay attention and focus while driving, not to encroach on pedestrian crossing lines, and to adhere to speed limits within cities and outside streets so that they can control the vehicle, pay attention to road surprises and avoid accidents.

Abu Dhabi Police stated that according to Law No. 5 of 2020 regarding the seizure of vehicles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the penalty has been increased for the violation of causing an accident due to sudden deviation, as the vehicle causing the accident is seized until the owner pays the financial value of releasing the vehicle, which is five thousand dirhams And that is within a maximum period of three months, and in the event of non-payment within this period, the vehicle will be referred for sale in the public auction, in addition to that, the violator is obliged to the penalty stipulated in the Federal Traffic and Traffic Law for this violation, which is a fine of 1000 dirhams and four traffic points.

Starting from the ninth of September, the Abu Dhabi Police General Command began implementing Law No. 5 of 2020 regarding the seizure of vehicles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, where the penalty for a number of serious violations was tightened, by seizing vehicles and obligating their owners to pay a fine of up to 50 thousand dirhams to unblock them.
