An analysis found that North Korea's Yongbyon nuclear facility was also hit by a recent typhoon.

38 North, an American media outlet specializing in North Korea, analyzed the photographs of civilian satellites taken on the 21st of the local time, and said that the damage to the nuclear facility building was minimal, but damage was observed along the nearby Kowloon River.

38 North analyzed that a hole was drilled in the eastern end of the reservoir dam near the Yongbyon nuclear complex, resulting in a sharp drop in the dam water level.

The water level dropped sharply, and the tank that sucked water was exposed out of the water, and the pumping station that supplies water to the nuclear reactors was also cut off.

38 North said that if North Korea later restarts the 5MW-class reactor or operates an experimental light water reactor in such a state that the dam water level cannot be adjusted, it could cause problems to continue operating the reactor.

The media said that the situation in which nuclear reactors in nuclear facilities such as the 5MW reactor and ELWR began to operate has not been observed.
