Ring, a security camera company owned by Amazon, announced the launch of the Ring Always Home Cam for indoor surveillance that can fly around the house for surveillance while you are outside.

This flying camera can independently hover around your home, and send alerts if it detects intruders, fire or emergency situations while you are away from home.

The company said it aims to help people monitor their homes without having to install multiple cameras.

Users can set a specific path for the camera by carrying it around the house, and it can check for any disturbances such as an intruder or fire if the Ring Alarm feature is activated.

The Business Insider website quoted the company as saying that the device can only record while flying, and emit a sound to alert that it is recording, and when there is no monitoring, the camera is turned off, and the battery works for about 5 minutes because the camera is designed to make short trips of only one minute duration. The device will cost $ 250 when launched in 2021.

Amazon acquired Ring in early 2018 for $ 1 billion, and has faced some controversy over the privacy and security of its surveillance products, as its partnerships with hundreds of police departments across the United States have raised concerns from privacy advocates, civil rights groups and lawmakers.

Ring returned yesterday to say that it plans to improve the safety of its products.

It revealed that it will launch encryption technology for certain devices later this year, although it did not specify which products would be compatible with this encryption.
