From Monday, September 28, a number of restrictive measures are returning in Moscow in connection with the COVID-19 coronavirus infection pandemic.

As the mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin said, these measures will affect the Muscovites of the older generation.

In his blog, the mayor stated that the incidence of COVID-19 in Europe has significantly increased since August, and the number of detected cases of coronavirus has also significantly increased in Moscow in recent days.

“Of course, the current situation is significantly different from the state of affairs this spring.

Over the past months, we have learned a lot about the new virus, have become more careful, have acquired habits that help protect ourselves from infection.

Doctors have learned to diagnose and treat this disease.

Nevertheless, according to doctors, the superposition of two diseases, the common cold and the coronavirus, is very dangerous and can have serious consequences.

This is especially true for elderly Muscovites and citizens suffering from chronic diseases, ”Sobyanin said.

In this regard, Muscovites over 65 and younger citizens suffering from chronic diseases are asked not to leave their homes unnecessarily, and to go to shops and pharmacies as little as possible.

At the same time, working pensioners and people with chronic diseases are advised to switch to a remote work format or take a vacation.

In addition, the mayor of Moscow made a recommendation to the heads of enterprises and organizations with a convincing request to transfer as many employees as possible to remote mode.

He also asked to ensure strict compliance with sanitary and epidemiological safety measures at workplaces.

“The implementation of these measures will allow you to preserve the efficiency of your labor collectives,” he added.

At the end, Sergei Sobyanin addressed all residents of the capital, recalling the successful and effective fight against COVID-19 this spring.

However, at the moment, the pandemic may “superimpose the autumn-winter surge of colds,” so discipline and responsibility are required from Muscovites again.

“I ask you to strictly observe the mask and glove regime in transport, in shops and other public places.

And by all means - show special attention to the elderly and chronically ill people who must stay at home again, ”Sobyanin said.

- We all really do not want to return to the harsh restrictions of this spring.

Hope we can avoid this.

But only if we take care of ourselves and those close to us, ”concluded the mayor of Moscow.
