25 September 2020The maximum effort is made to trace the killer of Daniele De Santis and Eleonora Manta, killed in Lecce on Monday evening, and in the meantime the investigative activity of the carabinieri who seized the laptops of the two boyfriends continues.

The investigators will also sift through the contents of the computer used by Eleonora Manta in her office at the INPS headquarters in Brindisi, where she had been working as an official for just over a year.

The investigators' attention also focuses on the smartphones of the two victims, on the images of the video surveillance cameras, on the examination of the telephone cells in the area of via Montello, where the condominium where the couple lived is located.

Daniele De Santis, 33, from Lecce, worked as an administrator of condominiums and was a Lega Pro referee, registered in the Lecce section.

Eleonora Manta, 30, from Secli '(Lecce), had won the competition at the INPS after graduating with full marks.

The brutality with which the double murder was carried out has generated dismay in the city, especially in the neighborhood where the bloody act took place.

The autopsy on the bodies of the two young men, performed by the coroner Roberto Vaglio in two different phases, between last Wednesday and yesterday, highlighted the brutality of the murderous action, during which over sixty stab wounds were carried out.

The mangled bodies of the two young men, upon the arrival of help, were poured into pools of blood on the stairs of the building.

The wounds would be compatible with the blade of a diving dagger or butcher's knife.

Furthermore, the confidentiality of the investigations by the Prosecutor's Office of Lecce continues to be maximum, which has never leaked any information since the evening of the double murder.
