In his interview with Paris Match, Alassane Ouattara recalls the reasons which led the Constitutional Council
to dismiss several cases in the presidential election
of October 31.
"
Most of the exclusions were pronounced because of the insufficiency or the irregularity of the sponsorships
", he indicates.
“
Guillaume Soro, like Laurent Gbagbo, was dismissed because his criminal record is not blank.
Both knew it perfectly well
:
their candidacies were provocative.
"
And the president to drive home the point: “
Guillaume Soro's place is not in the electoral campaign, but in prison.
"
If he left Côte d'Ivoire, it is because he knows that he will have to be tried there for attempted destabilization
", adds the Ivorian president, before wondering about "
the way of life Parisian
”of his former ally:“
For a year, he has been leading the high life in Paris (.....) Where does this money come from?
"
In this interview, Alassane Ouattara also justifies his candidacy for a third term.
According to him, the new Constitution in force since 2016 resets the counters to zero.
“
Our Constitution dates from 2016, it established a new Republic in Côte d'Ivoire.
The cards have therefore been reshuffled
”.
