22 September 2020The redistribution of asylum seekers in Europe "has failed". Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz argues in an interview with France Presse.

"I am convinced that it has failed and that many states do not want it," said the head of the Austrian government, referring to the countries of Central Europe that refuse to accept migrants who have arrived in Italy or Greece. "The system cannot work like this but with a better defense of the external borders, fighting together against traffickers and sending aid to the countries of origin", added the conservative chancellor.
