The Ministry of Defense of Belarus informs about it.

“The objectives of this exercise are: to demonstrate the ability and readiness to repel aggression against the Union State, to ensure the territorial integrity of the Republic of Belarus,” the ministry said.

Also, the Russian and Belarusian military intend to increase the level of interaction and field training of military command and control bodies, formations and military units in the joint performance of tasks.

Another goal is to obtain practice for commanders and staffs in command and control of troops during the conduct of hostilities. 

Earlier, the commander of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Armed Forces, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov, arrived in Belarus to participate in the second stage of the Slavic Brotherhood exercises.

The second stage will take place from 22 to 25 September in the west of Belarus.
