Research is continuing, in the Gard, to try to find the two people still missing after the violent Cevennes episode, which fell this weekend.

The vehicle of one of them was however located "several kilometers downstream from the place where it was carried away by the current", we learn from the Gard firefighters.

Dog teams and whitewater rescuers are continuing the search.

500 homes without electricity

In the department, some municipalities have suffered very heavy damage, including Valleraugue.

In some corners of the Cévennes, up to 700 mm of rain fell in a few hours, resulting in heavy floods.

Very tense situation in #Valleraugue in the #Gard where significant runoff is added to the flooding of the # Hérault.

Heavy flooding is underway.

Avoid the area.
