He explained to "Emirates Today" that the council has been providing its programs and initiatives remotely, since the start of the "Corona" pandemic, pointing out that the surveys and the reactions of students' families, since the start of distance education, revealed the existence of challenges that students face during distance learning, including the electronic bullying that It centered in three forms, either verbally by insulting students to each other, sending messages and pictures through the link of electronic classes, or carrying out uncivilized movements and mocking some, which prompted the Council to organize and launch initiatives to combat cyberbullying, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, and met with responses and responses. Many positive feedback from students' parents.

Al-Mazmi pointed out that the families of students complained that they were not at home during the morning period to follow up on the education of their children, especially in the kindergarten and primary stages, due to their presence in their jobs, noting that the council monitored another complaint about the increase and intensity of the dose of materials that the student receives daily remotely compared to education Traditional.

He added that another challenge monitored by the Council is the students ’lack of awareness of some information as a result of receiving it remotely, the lack of live and direct examples, in addition to the lack of psychological support for male and female students.

He explained that the council submitted the comments and opinions of students' parents to the Sharjah Special Education Authority, the Sharjah Educational Zone, and school principals, in order to work on resolving them.

He stated that the Council is working to activate the partnership between the school and the home to ensure that students have access to the best educational services, including distance education, and supports the efforts of educational authorities and institutions to improve educational methods, and to provide an appropriate educational environment without challenges.

Al-Mazmi stated that the primary role of the council is directive and guiding, and from this point of view all the council’s channels have been harnessed to spread messages and advice on how to receive the school year, even before the education mechanism in the emirate is chosen, whether remotely, hybrid, or completely inside the classroom.

Rooting positive values ​​and behaviors

The head of the Sharjah Parents ’Council, Jassem Al Mazmi, stated that the council seeks to achieve five goals in the current stage: activating cooperation between students' parents and the school, supporting distance education programs, creating an educational and social environment for positive interaction between parents, educators and students, and contributing to Emphasizing and rooting Islamic values, positive behaviors, a spirit of belonging and loyalty to the homeland, deepening educational awareness in the community among parents, and focusing on correcting and correcting the issue of negative behaviors, such as bullying.

He pointed out that the council had organized 163 activities, through which it targeted students’s families, during the past three years, and included educational programs and awareness lectures. He indicated that 161 different activities were held for male and female students, such as competitions, summer and winter programs, and workshops to sharpen students ’talents, in addition to organizing 22 An activity for educational personnel, focusing on how to deal with people with intellectual disabilities, confront bullying in schools, and creative teaching.
